WORKING AND LIVING WITH MS

by Brian
(Mpls, Mn. Anoka)

TILL I HAD TO QUIT WORK...

MY STORY IS PRETTY COMPLEX.
I AM 49 YEARS OLD (AND) ABOUT NINE YEARS AGO I STARTED WALKING WITH A LIMP BECAUSE OF MY LEFT LEG. I WENT TO THE DR. AND I NEEDED BACK SURGERY. I AM OR WAS A TRUCK DRIVER, AND I NEEDED TO LIFT AND LOAD CARGO.

IT STILL WAS GETTING TUFF TO WALK PROPERLY AND DO THE NORMAL EVERYDAY TASKS PROPERLY. THE BACK DR. SENT ME TO THE FAMILY DR. WHO THEN SENT ME TO THE NEURO DR. WHO THEN SENT ME THROUGH A NUMBER OF TREATMENTS, OR TESTS TO THEN LET ME KNOW I HAVE
PROGRESSIVE SPINAL M.S.--AND IT KEEPS
GETTING WORSE.

I CANT WALK, AND LIVE WITH TERRIBLE DISCOMFORT EACH DAY. I DON'T THINK I WILL LIVE TOO LONG AS IT'S NOW IN MY BREATHING. AFTER ALWAYS WORKING AT TWO JOBS AT A TIME, I AM HOME AND CAN'T MOVE MUCH, BUT SAY TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH MS DON'T GIVE UP CAUSE I NEVER WILL.

BEST REGARDS,
BRIAN

Jesus sustains and heals
by: Janet

Brian..., I hope this helps. I was diagnosed with MS at 23. I lost my eyesight and it came back, left, and came back. My whole family died due to cancer and a car accident. Years later I got baptized in Jesus name and since being baptized I have not had any new lesions. I still suffer from old ones, and am on Copaxone. I agree with everyone else...., don't give up and ask the savior to help you and heal you. I pray for you right now in Jesus name for his will to be done in your life and to heal you completely. Amen. Cast your cares upon him for he cares for you. We all need to stick together with this illness. Be blessed.

COULD MY HUSBAND HAVE ms?
by: Anonymous

Brian. You are a survivor and a brave one. Don't ever give up, you can do this. I want to ask you a question and please email me shkhdarwish@hotmail.com.

My husband, now 43, started to walk weird 3 years ago, he tripped, he fell, he wiggled when he walked, now he drags his feet when he walks. He can't walk far. They diagnosed him with very rear Neuromuscular disease - POMPE.

After fighting with insurance for treatments, the doctors wanted to do a biopsy on his legs. My husband refused the biopsy, he went for DNA testing. Yesterday he called his Dr and she told him that DNA conformed that he does not have POMPE.

Now they want to do an MRI on his brain to see if he has MS. MS is in his family. His uncle (maternal side) has it and his cousin has it. Could this be MS? And what are the treatments for it? Did you have any of the symptoms my husband has?

Please write as much info as you can. We are desperate for any help and advice. Thank you, and may God Heal you.. Pray...

You Inspire me Brian
by: Terri

Brian - I was feeling sorry for myself today because I cannot find a job with so many gaps in my resume; then I read your story.

YOU ARE A SURVIVOR!!! I can't imagine how scared you must be, but I can tell from your story how very strong you are and that has spoken to me. Hang in there and keep fighting!! That is half the battle with this disease -- how you handle it emotionally. It will add years to your life, I am sure.

I will keep checking on you on here and offer support whenever I can. Thank you for sharing your story!

Thanks for sharing
by: Anonymous

Brian, just wanted to thank you for sharing your story with us. Also wanted to apologize for taking so long to comment on your story.

I sincerely hope you are doing well now. I'm sorry to hear that you were having so many problems with your MS. I know a few others who also have progressive multiple sclerosis and see how quickly they decline in health as well.

I admire the fact that you refuse to give up no matter what you are going through. Every moment of life that we live is worth living.

Thanks again for sharing.
