Who is MS Mouse? A mouse for one. She has multiple sclerosis and one of the things she wants to do is encourage every one of you who has MS. How will she do this? By making you laugh. By sharing her ups and downs. By showing everyone what's important to MSers.
She has a way of looking at life that will make you smile. And she hopes you'll come visit her every month to find out what's new. Here's her first note and a cartoon to go with it. You are welcome to share it with your friends and family if you like.
"Hello everyone, especially those of you who have multiple sclerosis. I started writing my New Years Resolutions, however, as you can see, I changed it to a To-Do List. Don't you think that's much more manageable? I do.
Most times, my New Years Resolutions end up not getting done. This year I decided to change things up a bit. My To-Do List reflects all the things I can get done in a day. Well, at least half a day. I kind of fell asleep right in the middle of working on it.
That's a problem for some of us with MS, however, I will finish my list, I promise. How about you? Have you given up on your News Years Resolutions? If not, I commend you. If you have, then that's okay, too. You just need to accept yourself just the way you are. Don't beat yourself up about not being able to do what you used to do.
You are a good person and so am I, (well actually I'm a mouse as you can probably tell by my ears). Just hang in there. We'll get through this - this MS. And by the way, my name is MS. Mouse, and you can call me that until I tell you my first name which I'll do later when we get better acquainted.
For now, I'm sending good thoughts and encouraging words your way. Look in the mirror and smile, knowing that I'm smiling back at you.
Take care!"
I hope you enjoyed meeting our new friend. Come back next month for another one of her fun and witty notes (and another cartoon), about how she's dealing with multiple sclerosis. If you like what you see, leave a comment below. She loves reading them and will sometimes comment back when she has something witty to say.
